Ghana 38 Food

Was busy earlier today putting my recent photos onto my external hard drive. In doing the sorting I realized I had a whole lot of food photos. Well a mix of Ghana, Thai etc and so here they are. The list of must try dishes in Ghana should be going down as I work my way through them but....it is going up and up as more and more people recommend additional ones to me.  Most below are Thai and the last being Ethiopian.....  Back to Ghana ones next post !!!!!

Ghana 36 Food

Following on from my cooking photos.  Ordered street food. Wahchi.  Also had some grilled Tilipia.

Arrived in two black plastic bag. One full of rice with a little bit of spicy tomato sauce.  The other ... inside the second plastic bag was a banana leaf wrap. It contained rice mixed with brown/black  beans and some tomato paste which includes some chilies. Its suitable to be eaten by everybody. No meat, but sometimes you can get fish in the beans if you order them. Actually very tasty this way. Also not too hot and for me not enough salt......

And the grilled fish.....

Bon Appetit!!!

Been busy

As I mentioned last post went down to Rayong for a quick day to see some friends and then get ready for departing Thailand.  Going to Seychelles on Wednesday then onward to Ghana for a short work spell. Duration as usual unknown. Supposed to be for 3 months but we will see what transpires.

In Rayong outside on of the big department stores the parking area was taken over by street vendors. Lovely array of foods.  needless to say we tried a lot of it....  From noodles to bugs and stuff in between.  I walked along and "clicked" away on the phone. They say a picture tells a thousand words.  Please just enjoy  the photos.....

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Had a very lazy Sunday afternoon.  Stayed home only to "pop" out for lunch. Actually the reason we  went out was to buy a new tank for our  Crayfish.

But in any event we stopped of at a local restaurant.  Usual good choices and service. Some food was already cooked and you could just choose by pointing.  Others were made up while you wait.
Actually this place is quite famous in the area and have a coffee shop, snackbar for takeways, biscuits etc and excellent food.  A But as I've been slow in posting so to have I been slow in taking enough photos. In this case I have nearly finished  my meal before I snapped a couple of shots. But trust me it was good.  I think you can even feel the chilies heat through the computer...!!!

I had rice with two dishes. One Panang curry and the other a pork in sauce.  Wanna had grilled fish. Very like a mackerel and rice and various salads. Also complimentary there were an assortment of veggies and sauces and even some purple flowers.  Ice and water provided.  As you can see all in a very clear open environment.  All up cost Baht 105.  That's 2 pounds !!!!!

Street Food Thai Style

Came across this guy a few days back.  He was making up a Thai salad. Busy talking to customers and passers by. But he just got on with it. Just watch how easy he makes it look and check out the contents......

A picture says a  1,000 words is correct.

Ban Muang - Relax

Just had 5 days up in Ban Muang. Relaxing. House and garden looking good.

Did a bit of shopping and had time for "canteen" lunch. These big Makro type places have everything you need and even have small restaurants attached. All offering a variety of foods.  The shop had all we needed. Good range of foods, spics and assorted goodies.

Food was excellent as well.I looked at all the local stuff and enjoyed some rice and a bamboo stir fry. Wanna went for the Club Sandwich and chips.

Talking of bamboo dishes, Wanna dug up some bamboo shoots, cut them and then boiled them for later use.

Me,  I just got on and made a Quiche. So we were all busy being creative....
